Class Options

For all of our classes we have both morning and evening options.

Click on a tab to learn more about classes that interest you. Should you like to register for a class, please click the corresponding “register button” located within each class tab. Be sure to double check the class codes to ensure you’re signing up for the correct one. All 7 week courses are priced at 250.00. If you’d like to try a class before you register for a course, we also offer “Social Night Pottery”. On select Friday nights, we host social pottery events to give people the freedom to explore ceramics without fully committing to a course for 35.00 a person.

Children's Classes

Fun, Constructive and Creative

We will work on the potters’ wheel, learn to embellish with handles, colored glazes, and 3D design. Our primary focus will be to acquire the skills to successfully create a lidded bowl on the wheel that will have a small animal sculpture as the handle.
Projects will also include making decorated functional items, including cups, bowls, and plates.
This will be the beginning of an ongoing series of ceramic classes aimed at this age group.

Class limited to 10 students.

  • Duration: 1.5-hour class once a week for 7 weeks.
  • Includes: instruction, clay, glazes, and firing.
  • Ages: 8 – 12 years
  • Experience: No experience required. Students must engage and want to do work.

Children's Classes - Spring 2018

Coached Open Studio

Coached Open Studio:
This session is engrossing and rewarding for beginners and experts alike. You’ll work independently on the projects of your choosing. Your instructor is there to coach you if necessary.

  • Includes, fifty pounds of clay (additional clay to be purchased from WGA at $1.00 per pound), Coach to assist if necessary, WGA basic glaze collection, use of tools and firing.

 Schedule to run with other classes.

  • 7 visits on Monday evenings or Saturday mornings for extra studio time. Similar to study hall in high school these periods are available to hone your skills or work on lengthy projects.  A coach is available to assist you in solving any challenges or techniques you may encounter.
  • Duration: 7 sessions on any Monday evening for 3 hours.
  • Includes Individual coaching, clay, use of tools, glazes, and firing.
  • Ages: 14+
  • Experience: Beginner to expert.

Free Open Studio*

Ongoing Uncoached Open Studio

Take advantage of extra time in the studio to continue your class work or explore new ceramic possibilities in an open format on Wednesdays while enrolled in a 7-week course.

  • Includes: Studio will be open Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 9:00 and Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings from 9:30 -12:00
  • Ages: 16+

NEW -- Teen Coached Open Studio (Grades 9-12) -- NEW

This is intended to give young aspiring artists the freedom to develop and learn by planning and executing ceramic projects of their choosing. We are offering a productive and creative space out of school for further exploration and development of the ceramic arts. We will help students refine existing skills and explore new ones. Bring your ideas and make them happen.

  • Duration: 3 hours coached studio once a week for 7 weeks.
  • Includes: instruction, clay, glazes, and firing.
  • Ages: Grades 9-12
  • Experience: Students must have completed one semester of ceramics and are able to work independently.

Social Night Pottery

If you’d like to try a class before you register for a course, we also offer “Social Night Pottery”. On select Friday nights from 7:00-9:00 pm, we host social pottery events to give people the freedom to explore ceramics without fully committing to a course.

Come solo, bring friends or make it a date night to get a taste of what we’re all about. Enjoy a structured class experience in a casual, social environment for a night of fun and creativity. You’ll have a blast meeting new people and giving your creative impulses a chance to shine! The projects vary each time, so you’re able to learn and create something new.

  • Duration: One Session, on select Friday nights, from 7:00-9:00 pm.
  • Includes: Instruction, clay, use of tools, glazes, and firing. Snacks and soda are provided, but bring your own refreshments if you’d like.
  • Ages: 16+

Holiday Open Studio

Open to experienced potters only. (16 and up) This is an Open Studio format and includes studio use, access to our stock glazes and firing.

  • Duration: December 4, 2017 – January 6, 2018
  • Includes: stock glazes, bisque and glaze firings. Fee does not include clay*
  • Ages: 16+
  • Experience: Beginner to expert.

Morning classes start at 9:30am and end at 12:00pm.

Evening Classes

Evening classes start at 6:30pm and end at 9:00pm.
